Marquis Hawkins

PhD
  • Assistant Professor
  • Faculty in Epidemiology

Dr. Marquis Hawkins’s research aims to advance our understanding of how to promote maternal health during the perinatal period. Specifically, he examines the interrelationship of physical activity and sleep during, and after pregnancy and the independent and joint relationship, these health behaviors have with maternal health outcomes. His current career development award involves identifying distinct patterns of change (i.e., trajectories) of sleep and physical activity after childbirth and describing their relationship with postpartum weight retention.
