Our research is translational neuroscience based primarily on work with animal models of Alzheimer’s disease. For the last 10 years our group has been working with Alzheimer model mice expressing human APOE3 or APOE4 isoforms. We focus on the role of genes associated with Late Onset Alzheimer’s disease such APOE, TREM2, ABCA7 and others. To evaluate functional and morphological changes on cellular, tissue and organism levels we apply wide array of methods such as behavior testing, immunohistochemistry, transcriptomic and lipidomic analysis. Significant time and effort in those projects have been spent on experiments and analysis of massive high throughput sequencing datasets transcription factor binding, histone modifications, as well as expression profiling in brain following exposure and in response to different dietary patterns and environmental toxicants, as well as the application of promising therapeutic agents.
