Pitt Public Health students, faculty and alumni have a big presence each year at the annual APHA Annual Meeting & Expo, the largest and most influential annual gathering of public health professionals coming to present, learn and find inspiration. Thousands of public health professionals come together to learn, network and advance their careers.

Since 1995, when the first full week of April was declared National Public Health Week (NPHW), communities across the United States have observed the time as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving the public’s health. Since 1999, Dean’s Day—Pitt Public Health’s annual showcase of student research—has hosted poster sessions during which students present their work to the multidisciplinary Pitt Public Health community.
To participate, students must prepare and submit an abstract. All students who submit abstracts give poster presentations. All currently matriculated Pitt Public Health students are eligible to compete, with the exception of the previous year’s first place master’s and doctoral winners.
- Graduation Ceremonies

The Pitt Public Health Graduation ceremony for graduate programs is held at the end of the spring term. The next event will honor graduates from June, August, and December of 2022 and April of 2023 on April 29 at 11 a.m. at the David Lawrence Convention Center. Graduates and their families are also invited to a special event surrounding a new Jonas Salk exhibit on April 28 at 4 p.m.
